The Somerville High School Scholarship Foundation (SHSSF) is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation established with the express intent of distributing scholarships to qualifying seniors of Somerville High School. The Foundation’s purpose, as stated in its by-laws, is to provide financial assistance to graduates of Somerville High School in their full-time pursuit of higher education without regard to race, color, creed, age or sex of said graduate.

Founded in 1990, the Foundation includes the Superintendent of Somerville Schools, the S.H.S. Headmaster, the Director of Guidance, some current and former S.H.S. administrators and teachers, some current and former government officials, and other graduates and citizens who care deeply about Somerville High School. Each year the Foundation awards around $60,000 to college-bound, military-bound and technical school-bound seniors from SHS, with a typical individual scholarship of $2,000.

The SHSSF actively seeks donations from individuals, corporations and estates who wish to further the mission of providing funds to graduating SHS seniors.
